Four volunteers, Jenny Cree, Sue Riley, Ron Chapman and Steve Williams from the LFHHS Chorley Family History Centre went to Radio Lancashire last night to chat with Gerald Jackson on the Late Show.

The half hour slot expanded to an hour as they talked about the Society, the Research centres at Chorley and Oswaldtwistle and Family History in general. Have a listen at http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02b8qq4

Looking forward to Wednesday when we welcome 64 children from St Gregory's School who are coming to do some research on Chorley men who fought at the battle of Festubert .

After being closed for nearly 11 months for re-furbishment, the Chorley Family History Research Centre opens its doors today!

Manager Sheila Gibbons said 'It's been a long time to be closed, but we are looking forward to meeting all our old visitors and welcoming new ones. We think everyone will be impressed with our new home - the Chorley Council have done us proud!' We now have a lot more space, four rooms instead of two'..

Visit the website www,cfhrc.com for details of opening times and the facilities we offer.
